Evaluation

Injection molded thermoplastics offer numerous design and production advantages to original equipment manufacturers and part designers. With substantial up-front tooling costs required to create the mold, however, it can often be challenging for customers to reach an ultimate buying decision. How do you confirm or approve the final part design before committing $10,000+ to cut the mold?

At Ecomass Technologies, we strive to provide our customers with everything they need to help them reach the correct buying decision. To this end, we have a number of evaluation samples and stock shapes available upon request to support our customers during the evaluation process. For customers of radiation shielding materials, our samples and stock shapes have frequently been used to confirm that the proposed material meets or exceeds their shielding requirements.  Other customers of weighting and balancing applications, or those with complex final part shapes, have used our samples and stock shapes to machine evaluation prototypes. Many have bonded several sample plaques together to increase wall thickness, and have subsequently machined the sample block to produce prototypes and limited production runs. Current Sample and Stock Shape Inventory

We currently have the following samples and stock shapes in inventory available upon request:

  • Standard Material Samples (2” x 3” x 1/8”) – For many of our material formulations, these standardized material samples are available for evaluation at no charge for qualified applications.
  • Evaluation Plaque (2.25” x 3.25” x  ¼”) – Ecomass High Gravity Compound 1700TU96: Tungsten Powder Filled PA12, 11.0 g/cc, for weighting, balancing, radiation shielding and vibration dampening applications.
  • Evaluation Plaque (100 x 110 x 10mm) – Ecomass High Gravity Compound 1700TU96. Tungsten Powder Filled PA12, 11.0 g/cc, for weighting, balancing, radiation shielding and vibration dampening applications.
  • Evaluation Plaque (100 x 110 x 10mm) – Ecomass High Gravity Compound 1050ZB92. Tungsten/Barium Sulfate Filled PA12, 6.9 g/cc, for radiation shielding applications.
